Erin Van Mol
Founder, After Loss Consultant
Two years ago, I lost my mom unexpectedly and my world stopped. Here I was, an adult millennial, with no clue where to start or what to do. In the midst of grief, there were endless details, decisions, and responsibilities piled on top of us that we had to deal with. It was overwhelming.
During that time, I was blessed to have a compassionate boss who introduced me to someone who specialized in guiding families through this exact scenario. I had never heard of an After Loss Professional, but wow, was her work was invaluable. She told us what to expect, walked us through what needed to be done, and took countless tasks off our plates. That gift gave us the space to grieve while still keeping up with our day-to-day lives and jobs. (Because really, how are three days of bereavement leave supposed to be enough when there is so much to do?)
That experience opened my eyes to how life-changing after-loss support can be. Now, I serve as a guide and project manager for families who are navigating life after loss. I’m not a lawyer or a financial advisor, but I partner with estate attorneys, planners, and other professionals to make sure you have the right support around you. My role is to walk beside you, shoulder the practical tasks, and bring clarity and compassion when things feel overwhelming, so you don’t have to carry it all alone.
If you’re walking through this season, please know I’m here to help.
